📷 Photography Tip — Fall color is coming (and it books up fast)
It might feel early to think about fall photos, but here’s the reality: those gorgeous mid-October weekends in Kansas City book up before the first leaf ever turns.
Peak fall color in KC usually hits mid-to-late October. That gives us about a two-to-three week window of those warm reds, oranges, and golds — and only a handful of weekends inside it.
Fall light is special too. The sun sits lower all day, golden hour comes at a family-friendly time, and the whole season just glows.
Planning ahead also gives you time to think about outfits. Fall photos love warm, rich tones — rust, mustard, cream, olive, deep green. Cozy layers photograph beautifully.
If a fall session is on your list this year, now is the time to grab a date. Waiting until October usually means choosing between leftover time slots — or missing the color entirely.
What’s your favorite fall spot in the KC area? I’m always looking for new ones!
